Who we are

Richard J. Scholl, President & Creative Director

Richard J. Scholl is a creative director, copywriter and marketing consultant with more than 30 years of project management, copywriting and marketing experience. For current clients — including AAA Mid-Atlantic, Empire Education Group and NOVO 1 — Richard has helped to conceive and create highly successful and synergistic integrated marketing campaigns.

Before forming his own firm, he was copywriter and manager of direct response marketing for a division of NW Ayer, advertising director and product manager for the American Society of CLU, creative director and copy chief for The Franklin Mint and vice president and creative director for a Philadelphia advertising agency whose clients included Bell Atlantic, CIGNA, CoreStates, Meridian Bank, PSFS, The Franklin Institute and the World Affairs Council.

Richard has won numerous awards including the John Caples International Award. Author of five books, Richard has taught marketing workshops at the Wharton Small Business Development Center, marketing at Villanova University and writing courses at West Chester University.

He has a BA in Writing and an MA in English from The Pennsylvania State University.

Kirk Kirkpatrick, Marketing Strategist

Kirk Kirkpatrick has held senior management positions in major corporations including HSN as Vice President of New Business Development, Discovery Communications as Vice President/General Manager of Commerce Discovery Health and The Franklin Mint as Senior Director of Collectibles and New Product Concepts. Marketing consulting includes assignments with AAA Mid-Atlantic, Aetna/US Healthcare (created the InteliHealth Healthy Home catalog), Benchmark Brands/FootSmart and Lenox Collections.

His career began in hard goods product development at Macy's Corporate Buying. Product development consulting assignments included L. L. Bean, Company Store, Linen Source and Sasaki/Christian Dior Art de la Table. Pro bono activity focuses on arts, specifically the University of Pennsylvania's Institute of Contemporary Art where he co-founded the ICA Leadership Circle and Moore College of Art's Paley and Levy Galleries where he works on long-term strategic planning.

Kirk earned an MBA from New York University and a BA from University of Pennsylvania.

Jan Deruiter, Web & E-commerce Developer

Jan has spearheaded the development or enhancement of web sites for companies including Aetna, InteliHealth, Johns Hopkins, CBS, Discovery, American Hospital Association, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the websites for numerous smaller companies and organizations.

He and his team can handle any operating system, database platform and development language that best suits the project or meets your requirements. Jan's web group develops practical, no-nonsense revenue-generating sites, specializing in complex sites that gather information, provide e-commerce capabilities or integrate with existing and legacy back-end systems.

Barbara Curran, Senior Art Director

With more than 20 years of experience, Barb has extensive experience in project management, design of the full range of advertising and collateral materials and art direction of photography.

Former creative director of The Disney Catalog and winner of the Catalog Age Gold Award, Barb produced 21 catalogs annually and was instrumental in increasing sales from $50 million to $220 million in just two years. Previously, Barb managed the in-house advertising design department at Lenox Collections.
